Is the book you want out-of-print? We may be able to find you a copy. Simply email us at hbss@historybookshop.com specifying the following details:

1. the book title and author;

2. the ISBN, if known;

3. your preferred binding, hardback or paperback, or whether you would accept either;

4. the minimum acceptable condition you would wish (normally expressed as working copy, fair, good, very good, fine);

5. any additional requirements, such as first edition, or signed copy;

6. a maximum price including postage and finder's fee.

Costs of the service

We will normally charge a finder's fee of £7.50 plus the cost of the book and any postage charges incurred. Some books may attract a larger fee, depending on their value and availability. Typically a book which costs in excess of £50 would attract a search fee of 20% of the book value, up to a maximum of £50.

We do not accept all search requests but, on receipt of your email, we shall advise you of whether we believe we can help, together with likely prices and timescales.
