Agis II, King of Sparta5th century BCEFrom 425 BCE until the end of the Peloponnesian War he was principal leader of the Spartan land forces. During the Peace of Nicias (421-416) he won several victories against Argos. After the surrender of Athens (404) he invaded Elis, and having dedicated spoils at Delphi, returned to Sparta, where he died about 399 BCE.
