Cranach, Lucas, also Kranach; called the Youngerb. 1515; d. 1586German painter, son of Lucas Cranach the Elder. The son was his father's devoted helper and collaborator, and it is often difficult to decide whether a picture is the work of the elder or of the younger Cranach, so much do their separate paintings resemble each other in style. Some of his pictures are at Wittenberg and others at Dresden, Munich and Berlin.
